GYC's annual conference saw young people spend the day looking at Young People in the Media, with a host of guests from Local and national media including Debbie Thrower from ITV meridian news.

 

 

International Young Womens Day celebrated what it is to be a women with workshops on health, personal safey and tasters in art and cookery.

 

 

Gosport Youth Festival saw Walpole Park transformed into an exciting selection of activities for young people culminating in the ever popular Party in he Park open air dance event.

 

 

The Summer Passport was a first for Gosport, this event took place in parks and open spaces binging activities to young people where they live, all for FREE! Opportunitis included fishing, inflatables, sport, dance workshops and pimp your bike to name a few.

 

 

Saltex Play Exhibition - Bored with the play equipment for teenagers in the borough the GYC took it upon themselves to visit an exhibition of new and exciting play resources. This was a fantastic day as the GYC members even had the chance to give things a go! Information from this exhibition was presented to councillors on the Tour De Gosport Event.

 

 

Tour De Gosport - The second of a hot spot tour of areas young people have concerns over. Councillors were shown around the Town centre, Leesland Park, Lee on Solent, Bridgemary and Anns Hill cemetary alley way. From this event the GYC will be compiling a report to present to Gosport Borough Councillors for further investigation.

 

 

Celebration Of Achievement Evening - Every year Gosport Youth Team aim to promote and celebrate the achievements of young people. This took place at Explosion with 60 young people and their families. Awards were presented by the Mayor of Gosport Councillor Derek Kimber and Councillor David Kirk - Executive Lead Member for Childrens Services.
